Senior Tax Accountant- CPA or CPA track required

Compensation: 90k-$110k DOE

Fully remote

One of Vaco's highly-acquisitive, PE-backed clients in the distribution space is looking to onboard a Senior Tax Accountant with indirect tax (property/sales & use) experience. This person will be a POC for external firms to troubleshoot and/or answer questions related to their filings as well as someone that can partner with internal folks on tax questions.

This is a newly created role that will give the Director room to focus on higher-level pieces of tax (international components, acquisitions, etc.)

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and file indirect tax returns, including sales and use tax, VAT, and GST.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable indirect tax laws and regulations.
• Conduct regular reviews of tax processes and identify areas for improvement.
• Assist in audits and respond to inquiries from tax authorities.
• Collaborate with internal teams to analyze transactions and ensure accurate tax treatment.
• Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess their impact on the company.
• Provide guidance and training on indirect tax matters to staff and stakeholders.
• Prepare documentation and reports for management regarding indirect tax positions and risks.
  Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in indirect tax compliance or accounting.
  • Strong understanding of indirect tax laws and regulations.
