Automotive Technician for Mobility Business

Company: NTS
Location: Irving

Job Description:

Welcome!

Please read the following job description thoroughly to ensure you are the right fit for this role before applying.

We are a small independent handicapped/mobility vehicle dealership looking to hire at least one technician to join us as our business is certainly growing!

We buy and sell quality used mobility vehicles and sell brand new mobility vans. It is certainly a niche business focusing on putting people in the right vehicle for their needs in a mobility vehicle. We will accomodate installing new devices (hand controls, wheelchair docking systems, transfer seat bases, adaptive driving devices, ect.) as well as making sure the vehicle chassis is in perfect working order which includes general vehicle repairs as well...we make sure all repairs and maintenance is done (brakes, struts, engine tune, engine gaskets, transmission service...any necessary repairs needed). We are confidant that we are selling the best product we can and providing the customer a solid, transparent vehicle and comes with a 30 day warranty. We are a VMI/Vantage Mobility factory dealer and currently have 9 device certifications. Other brands include Braun, Freedom Motors, AMS, ATC, ect.).

The business is small, we currently have 8 employees total to include two managing partners. Currently we have one technician which also serves as the service manager and will be able to manage your employment and help guide you with any help needed. If you are an automotive technician first with little to no mobility experience, we can teach you the mobility side (it's not difficult and can be quite rewarding!). Automotive repair skills necessary include some level of electrical knowledge, operate a professional level scan tool, be able to read diagrams. Any ASE certifications not necessary but if you have them, that will help your employment for sure. One question I will ask is how does your toolbox look? I have found that someone who is prepared will have an organized toolbox, a good litmus test.

The job pays by the clock hour, not flag or flat rate. Since we are working on our own vehicles the pay is based on hourly/clock in, clock out, a time clock essentially. And with that, there is no pressure to have to finish the repairs by a deadline, just get it done right and be thoughtful in your process...effort to make sure this repair is 100%. That is very important...any comeback is on us every time. We offer basic vacation pay, one week first year, two weeks in your second year, sick pay. No insurance offered or 401k. The job is expected to be 40 hours a week, no weekends and no overtime. Pay will start at $30/hour with a 30 day and 90 day review in which we will consider a raise depending on work results. A valid Texas drivers license in required. In the long term there will be some remote training to do and we will accomodate that, get you certified in the business.

We are a laid back group. If you just like to work without a bunch of attention and are efficient with your time, this job will be easy for you. With you, the team becomes two that are getting the work done.
