Baylor Scott & White Medical Center - Uptown is a joint venture surgical hospital between Baylor Scott & White Health (BSWH) and United Surgical Partners International (USPI), in partnership with local physicians. This hospital specializes in a wide range of medical and surgical services, including orthopedic care, joint replacement, spine care, and other surgical specialties.
Occupational Therapist Job Responsibilities:
The Occupational Therapist will facilitate the development and rehabilitation of patients with mental, emotional, and physical disabilities by planning and administering medically prescribed occupational therapy. This role involves assessing and interpreting evaluations and test results to determine the best course of treatment for each patient.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to meet the unique needs of each patient.
  • Provide hands-on therapy to patients, using a variety of techniques and tools to promote physical and mental recovery.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including physical therapists and nurses, to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Conduct regular assessments and evaluations to track patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a smooth and efficient care process.

    Required Skills:
    This role requires a graduate degree in occupational therapy and at least one to two years of experience in a related field. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently, maintain confidentiality, and demonstrate excellent communication and organizational skills.
    Additional Requirements:
    • Current licensure in the State of Texas.
    • Current BLS certification.
    • Excellent knowledge of current treatment protocols and rehabilitation equipment.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and think creatively to develop effective treatment plans.
