    We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Clinical Laboratory Technologist to join our team. In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring the accurate processing and testing of clinical specimens, while adhering to laboratory procedures and quality standards. The ideal candidate will have experience in high complexity testing and will work closely with a team of professionals to maintain and improve laboratory operations.
    Key Responsibilities:
    --- Follow established laboratory procedures for processing specimens, conducting test analyses, and reporting patient results while maintaining accurate records.
    --- Ensure proficiency testing samples are tested in the same manner as patient specimens, maintaining accurate documentation for review.
    --- Analyze specimens using the laboratory's approved testing methods (refer to department SOPs).
    --- Review test results thoroughly before releasing them, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
    --- Follow CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, and safety guidelines to maintain a safe and compliant workplace.
    --- Adhere to laboratory's quality control policies, and document all quality control activities, instrument calibrations, and maintenance.
    --- Address any test system deviations and follow established procedures to maintain performance within acceptable levels.
    --- Identify and troubleshoot problems that may affect test performance or result reporting. Notify the senior technologist or supervisor for assistance if necessary.
    --- Document and implement corrective actions when test systems deviate from established specifications.
    --- Follow department procedures to ensure STAT or critical results are promptly reported to clients.
    --- Respond to questions from clients or lab personnel, providing accurate and clear information as needed.
    --- Keep complete and accurate records for all testing conducted on-site.
    --- Help maintain the general appearance and cleanliness of the laboratory department.
    --- Ensure reagents and test kits are properly labeled with receipt dates, expiration dates, and opened dates.
    --- Stay up to date by reviewing and training on new procedures to ensure the laboratory's high standards are met.
    --- Attend monthly departmental meetings and any additional training/educational sessions to enhance your knowledge and skills.
    --- Actively participate in safety training, be familiar with the safety manual, and know where safety equipment is located and how to use it.
    --- Participate in government or regulatory agency inspections as needed to ensure compliance with standards.
    --- Perform additional duties as directed by the supervisor to support the team and laboratory operations. Required Knowledge & Skills:
    --- Solid understanding of basic laboratory testing procedures.
    --- Strong computer skills with the ability to adapt to multiple laboratory computer systems.
    --- Knowledge of quality control (QC) and quality assurance (QA) practices.
    --- Ability to work efficiently and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
    --- Excellent communication and customer service skills when interacting with clients or other departments.
    --- Ability to always maintain patient confidentiality.
    Education & Experience:
    --- Bachelor's degree in medical technology (preferred) or related field (Chemistry, Biology), or associate's degree in a Laboratory Science/Medical Technology.
    --- For foreign-educated candidates, a credential evaluation from IERF (International Education Research Foundation) is required.
    --- Minimum of 1-year clinical laboratory experience in high-complexity testing is preferred, or a bachelor's in chemistry/biology with experience in clinical laboratory settings.
    --- National certification as a Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) is preferred (e.g., ASCP, AMT).
    --- Experience as a Grossing Technician is a plus.
    Additional Job Details:
    --- Primary duties include pipetting clinical specimens, specimen processing (smear, stain, lyse, label), and working with a BD FACSCanto II flow cytometer. Data analysis is not included in this role.
    --- The ideal candidate will have prior experience as a Grossing Technician.
