doing...The Finance OrganizationAt Verizon, we are building a
world-class Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) organization.
We have begun a comprehensive program to streamline processes,
improve systems, realign the organization and add opportunities for
personal skill-building and professional growth. We're finding new

compiling data and help tell the story behind the numbers. The
Business Unit facing positions offer opportunities to drive better
business partnering and insights, while growing your FP&A
leadership and interpersonal skills. You are considered a business
partner and your contributions will make a difference. You'll
become involved in, but not limited to, pricing decisions and new
initiatives to develop new products and services. You can have an
impact on new business growth opportunities through development of
business case scenarios.
- Managing end-to-end process for key governance deliverables and
executive presentation development for CFO, including Board of
Director materials and Quarterly Earnings Certifications.
- Presenting and communicating presentations with executive
stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
- Crafting stories and materials appropriate for the audience, in
addition to back-up support relative to the material.
- Building strong cross-functional relationships with our
financial business partners, including but not limited to BU
Finance, Treasury, External Reporting, and Accounting.
- Being a trusted advisor providing valuable decision support and
guidance to executive management.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy of financials and
alignment with cross-functional teams.
- Ensuring alignment of business decisions across financial
statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow Statement).
- Evaluating consensus, business, and industry trends to assess
monthly and quarterly business performance.
- Continuous improve of overall processes and governance of
presentation material.
- Providing decision support and guidance and leading ad-hoc
presentation development and executive review.What we're looking
for...You'll need to have:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or four or
more years of work experience.
- Four or more years of relevant experience required,
demonstrated through work experience and/or military
experience.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite with knowledge of Excel
and G-Suite
- Proficiency in Essbase, Smart View, Hyperion Planning, and
Hyperion Strategic Finance.Even better if you have one or more of
the following:
- Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics.
- Experience in the technology and/or telecommunications
industry.
- A professional certification (e.g. CPA, CMA).
- Understanding of corporate financial planning and reporting &
analysis
- Knowledge of common business and cost drivers, financial
statement analysis, and deep-dive analysis.
- Familiarity with the preparation of General Ledgers, Basic
Knowledge of FASB requirements, Generally Accepted Accounting
Principles.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to focus on the
